Meet Pauline, our Marketing & PR Intern

Hello! My name is Pauline and for the last four years, I have been studying business and languages at the Jean Moulin University in Lyon, France, where I will graduate from my Masters at the end of this school year.

I grew up in Valence, a little town in the South East of France, and from a very young age my parents got me used to watching movies in English. Since then, I have always had a thing for foreign languages. So, when I had to choose what I wanted to do at University, it was an easy choice. I went to Lyon to start my A Levels in business studies in English and Italian and then continued with a Master’s Degree in the same field. 

When I’m not studying, I love cooking, wandering unfamiliar streets, dancing, playing the ukulele and spending a lot of time with my family and friends (including my cat).

What made you decide to apply for an internship with a UK marketing agency?

Well two years ago, I had the chance to spend my third year of A Levels studying in the UK at the University of Hull via an exchange program. This experience really confirmed my desire to work in a multicultural environment and my wish to come back to the UK as soon as the opportunity arose.

In addition to the international appeal, doing an internship in a marketing agency such as Rewind Creative gives me the opportunity to be very hands-on and work on a wide variety of projects around digital marketing. It is a very versatile place where you can gain a broad range of knowledge with clients across multiple industries. This diversity is one of the key reasons that made me want to work at Rewind Creative – there are always new challenges. 

Also, it is exciting to work for a young, bold and dynamic team that is willing to give me opportunities across their services. 

What is your role in the internship and what do you hope to learn and achieve?

As a Marketing and PR Intern, I will work with the team to help manage client accounts and learn about all things social media, newsletters, PR and client development. The duality of marketing with its very different analytical and creative sides has always seemed like a perfect fit for me because I have such a strong interest in both. That’s why, I will also be working on business development with a focus on market insights and research.  I expect that I will learn a lot, take on new challenges and become part of the team. I hope to help the agency grow while building on my current skills and learning as much as I possibly can.

What are your long term and short term career goals?

I will be graduating at the end of this school year and I would love to start working in marketing right away. Apart from expanding my knowledge and experience in marketing, I also hope to work in a company abroad or in a multicultural environment. Basically I want to be a valuable team member and do a job that I enjoy.

What advice would you give to someone wanting to do the same?

Don’t be afraid! Experiment new things, take initiatives, ask questions… Being an intern is as much of a learning experience as it is a work one, and you get out what you put into it. Take the time to build skills that you’ll be using later!
